These instruments have different names based on the configuration and number of strings (4- and 5-course) and scale length, such as bouzouki, octave mandolin, cittern and mandola. Larry's instruments are made from Australian timbers - Queensland maple, Tasmanian blackwood, Tasmanian myrtle and celery top and bunya pine.
